Hm...in other news, looks like Hurricane Ivan isn't going to hit us as bad as they thought, thanks to it taking a more northerly turn. We're still gonna get some high winds, and a hell of a lot of rain from it tonight and tomorrow, but nothing like what they've been predicting. So that's good. But the bad part is, Now there's Hurricane Jeanne out there, and it looks to be heading for either the Florida, Georgia, or South Carolina coastline by Monday. Great. NOT!

I've started working on changing over Set in Slate over to full out HTML. This is going to be a very slow process, since I haven't worked with any HTML in about six years, but I've got the main page converted already, and I'm happy with it so far.

I'm really glad I decided to have Amy's birthday party next weekend, even though her birthday is this Sunday. I'm gonna have to take loads of pictures of all her stuff. She's getting TONS of HP stuff! She's getting a set of custom-made Ravenclaw robes and a student hat, a 2005 POA calender, a HP pen, a POA spiral notebook, a collectible tin of HP Trading cards, a Ravenclaw pin, a wallet with the Hogwarts crest on it, a Hogwarts Crest sticker to go on her school notebook, a Sirius Wanted poster folder with notebook paper to match, a bookbag with the Hogwarts crest on it, and two different Ravenclaw t-shirts. I also have to get the rest of the stuff ready for her party. Not only are all the decorations, cake, etc, going to be HP this year, we are actually going to have HP refreshments. My grandmother is making Cockroach Cluster, we're going to have Ton-Tongue Toffees, Treacle Fudge, Butterbeer, Pumpkin Juice, and Pumpkin Pasties. Yum!! I can't wait! LOL

Oh, yes...must gripe about my family. I just found out that my little brother is getting married next June and has moved out of my dad's house. Not that that in itself is a bad thing, what pissed me off is the fact that I only found out because Amy called my baby sister to invite her to spend the night before the party with her. My only brother moves out, and is getting married, and nobody in the whole damn family even bothers to call and tell me?? WTF???? Stupid family! *wanders off grumbling*

I'm am very jealous of your daughter. Why can't my parents get me all that stuff for my birthday!?! :( That sucks aout not knowing about the wedding thing, too. Why would they not think to tell you? Who knows...I'm gonna head over and check out set in slate right now though...*runs off*

You're so good for my ego, you know that? :) It's gonna take me forever to get the whole site converted (especially working between storms!) - I've only got two of them done so far. But I'm actually happy with how it's starting to look now. A LOT more organised, and appealing. Once I get my HTML back up to scratch, I may change it again later. Who knows? Once I get started on a project, I sometimes get carried away!

Thanks so much! Glad you found some good reads on there. Most of the ones on there right now are from my personal fic stores, so I can personally say they are well worth reading, many of them over and over!

I was gonna ask you about some banners and/or graphics for the site, but I know how stressed you are right now. (I read your rant. ;) ) So, instead of asking for anything specific, how about this. Anything you want to donate to the site (credit will be given like on the main page, of course!), I would be honoured to use. I'd love to have like some sort of themed banners for the different genres (romance, humour, and drama/angst) to put under the titles on the pages. But don't stress yourself over them. There's no rush or obligation or anything. :)

Thanks for your thoughtfulness {{Cyndi}} :) I'm a pretty pathetic ranter really since I edit those darn things to make it less brutally frank or anything. lol. Plus, I'm lousy at really getting my point across so I think I muddled up what I was really trying to say.

Anyways, I'm truly happy to help with this. Art, when I'm interested can be great stress-relief. Besides, it lets me procrastinate on the projects and midterm studying I have to do these coming weeks *g*

I gues I 'got it' because I'm the same way really. I have a hard time saying no when somebody asks me to do something. And when I do finally let loose and rant, I usually end up locking the post to all but a few closest friends who know me best (and usulyy have absolutely NOTHING to do with the situation o begin with! lol)

I was looking through the manips you already have. Something similar to the Greenhouse one is along the lines of what I was thinking of for the romance pages, and something similar to the Beside You one is what I was thinking of for the drama/angst pages. You know, things that sort of match the theme/mood of the fics on the pages. Just simple banners to go under the titles at the top, not anything real big that would take a long time to load. I have no ideas, as yet, for the humour pages or the arts or sites and communities pages.

LOL. Right on - I think only one of my friends actually knew what I was referring to *g*

For the other banners, I'll flip through my sceencaps and see what strikes me. I did a trial banner that was approximately 339x84 and 12 kb in size. I don't have a sample to show right now, but I think that should work well.

*g* That sounds perfect. That's about the size I had in mind. Not so big that it dominates the page, but just enough to give it that 'finishing touch'. :D

And just because I'm being lazy today lol, yes, I think something along the lines of Snow Hugs would probably be perfect for the humour page. I thought about that, too, actually. (about 2:30 this morning! lol) They're expressions in that one are perfect for the humour side, it's just so hard to find GOOD screen caps (or any pics, really) of them both laughing like that. I haven't looked through them all, but have you checked out Draco's Kingdom (http://www.dracoskingdom.com/) or Malfoy Mansion (http://www.malfoymansion.com/) for more pics of Draco? (He seems to be the hardest to find. :( )
